Defend and Win

I owe an apology to Kolo Toure.  I called him over the hill and some other names a few weeks back, but this weekend against Arsenal he showed he still has it in him.  City have not had a clean sheet in the league since October 1st of this year when they beat Blackburn 0-4.  There has only been 7 clean sheets in domestic competitions for the club so far and 2 in the Champions League which we are no longer playing in.

We have played Arsenal twice so far and Kolo has started both times.  1 goal wins in both matches.  This comes off drama some weeks ago about his unhappiness with the club.  He had some fantastic pace and some crucial tackles that saved the clean sheet.  He looked like the man we had picked up a few years ago.  Kolo you did us proud today.  Oh and that is not too overshadow Pablo Zabaleta who also had a fantastic game and came within an inch of putting one in the back of the net as well.

I try not harp on the defenders. They have a tough job as it is.  I love the goal scoring this year, but it has caused a lapse in the tough D we saw last year.  The season is not over and they have to remain tighter then ever to survive the next few months because there are a few clubs running up behind us for the league title. I am sure Joe Hart was happy today as was David Silva with a great goal to give us the win.  Mancini also gave praise to all of his defenders as well.  Have a listen to his interview.

So my hands were clapping with joy today because this was a huge win.  The big question will be can we get another clean sheet,  another tough challenge lays only 3 days from now with visiting Stoke.  See You then.
